His work history includes time based in Toronto, Vancouver and Seattle, and he has counselled senior executives and developed and led communications and marketing strategies at the national, U.S. and global levels for organizations across many sectors—whether consulting on go-to-market strategies for confidential “incubation” projects at Microsoft’s Redmond campus, supporting Shell and partners on pre-FID community relations and project communications for the $40 billion LNG Canada megaproject, or managing YVR’s reputation through a period of unprecedented growth and construction and then the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic (all while maintaining YVR's status as BC’s third most-loved brand!).
With more than ten years' experience at top agencies including Edelman, Assembly Media Inc. and APEX Public Relations, several years' experience leading communications for Canada's second-busiest airport and an 18-month assignment leading digital communications and marketing for BC's top health authority during the largest mass vaccination campaign in its history, Brock offers a depth and breadth of experience that positions him well to tackle any challenge. In 2019 Brock was the recipient of an IABC Gold Quill Award of Excellence and coveted Best of the Best award for YVR’s strategic communications approach to cannabis legalization. Recommended by evaluators and reviewed by the Gold Quill Awards chair, vice-chair and past chair, the Best of the Best winners represent top communications campaigns from around the world. Judges praised the campaign for distilling complex information into simple, easy-to-understand messaging and achieving excellent media results that directly supported outcome-based business objectives. The campaign was developed and executed in-house with scarce time and budget.
